From a complete brand flip to years of creative development, digital marketing and brand management.
More Than a Brand Flip. A Complete Brand Journey.
Some projects are about designing a logo. Others are about building a brand, shaping its personality and helping it establish a recognisable presence in a competitive market.
Our journey with PizzaBoyz Crafted was the latter.
What began as a brand transformation developed into a comprehensive creative and marketing partnership, spanning brand strategy, restaurant identity, website development, social media management, promotional campaigns, customer activations and support with app development.
At Dutch Ink Advertising House, we were involved in much more than the visual appearance of PizzaBoyz. We helped develop and maintain the brand’s creative direction across multiple customer touchpoints.
And when the time eventually came to part ways, we did so with mutual respect, pride in the work and a belief that fresh creative thinking can be valuable for both the brand and the agency.
This is the story of a brand transformation, an ongoing marketing partnership and the importance of knowing when to make room for the next chapter.
1. The Brand Flip: Reimagining PizzaBoyz
The PizzaBoyz transformation began with the need for a stronger, more distinctive brand identity.
The creative direction moved towards a bold, confident visual language built around black, white and red.
The refreshed PizzaBoyz Crafted identity featured powerful typography, a recognisable red Crafted device and a visual treatment designed to work across restaurant environments, packaging, menus and marketing communications.
The positioning was unapologetically bold, reflecting the personality of the product and the brand’s approach to pizza.
Developing a Recognisable Restaurant Identity
The brand development extended into:
- Corporate identity and logo application.
- Restaurant interior branding and environmental graphics.
- Menu design and product presentation.
- Promotional campaign artwork.
- Food photography direction and advertising creative.
- In-store marketing materials.
- Brand messaging and visual consistency.
The objective was to create a recognisable restaurant brand that could connect its physical identity with its advertising and digital presence.

2. Restaurant Interior Branding & Customer Experience
A restaurant brand needs to work just as effectively in the store as it does in an advertisement.
For PizzaBoyz, the visual identity was extended into the restaurant environment through wall graphics, branded counter areas, menu displays and promotional signage.
The use of dark surfaces, red accents, industrial-inspired materials and confident typography created a distinctive visual personality.
These design elements helped bring the PizzaBoyz Crafted identity into the spaces where customers interacted with the business.
The project demonstrated how restaurant interior branding and environmental graphic design can turn a visual identity into a cohesive customer-facing experience.
3. Website Development & Digital Brand Presence
As the relationship developed, Dutch Ink’s responsibilities expanded beyond traditional graphic design.
We managed the PizzaBoyz website as part of the brand’s wider digital presence.
The website formed an important connection between the restaurant’s identity, product offering, promotions and customers.
Our involvement helped maintain visual consistency between the physical restaurant experience and its online communication.
This was part of a broader approach to restaurant marketing: ensuring that customers encountered the same recognisable brand whether they were viewing a menu, browsing online or engaging with a social media campaign.

4. Social Media Management & Creative Campaign Development
Social media became another important component of the PizzaBoyz marketing account.
Dutch Ink managed the brand’s social media presence, developing creative content and promotional communication aligned with the PizzaBoyz personality.
The creative approach centred on strong food imagery, confident messaging and a consistent visual identity.
Campaign-Led Restaurant Marketing
Rather than viewing social media as a standalone activity, our approach connected it to the wider brand.
Promotional artwork, product-led campaigns, menu features and branded messaging were developed to reinforce the restaurant’s positioning.
The result was an ongoing creative programme that extended the PizzaBoyz identity beyond its physical locations.

5. Promotions, Activations & Customer Engagement
Restaurant marketing requires more than maintaining a digital presence.
Brands need relevant promotional activity, engaging campaigns and opportunities to connect with customers.
Dutch Ink supported PizzaBoyz through promotional development and customer-facing activations, helping translate marketing ideas into practical creative executions.
This included promotional design, campaign communication and creative support for marketing initiatives.
A key aspect of the relationship was the ability to develop ideas across different formats while maintaining a consistent brand personality.
From in-store promotions to social media advertising, the creative work formed part of an integrated marketing approach.
6. Supporting App Development & Brand Consistency
As the PizzaBoyz brand developed, our involvement also extended to assisting with app development.
Our role supported the wider brand and digital experience, helping connect the restaurant’s established visual identity with an additional customer-facing platform.
For modern restaurant businesses, digital platforms form an increasingly important part of the brand experience.
Maintaining consistency across websites, apps, social media, promotional artwork and physical retail environments helps create a more recognisable customer journey.
The PizzaBoyz relationship demonstrated the value of an agency that understands both brand development and the practical requirements of ongoing marketing management.
7. Brand Stewardship: Knowing When to Pass the Baton
One of the most important lessons from our PizzaBoyz journey has very little to do with design.
It has everything to do with understanding the relationship between an agency and the brands it represents.
At Dutch Ink, we believe that creative partnerships should continue to deliver energy, enthusiasm and fresh thinking.
Over time, even successful relationships can reach a point where a new perspective becomes valuable.
Creative teams can become deeply familiar with a brand. While that familiarity brings experience and understanding, it can also make it harder to approach the work with the same sense of discovery that existed at the beginning.
We believe agencies have a responsibility to recognise this.
Sometimes the Best Decision Is to Make Room for New Thinking
After our journey with PizzaBoyz, we made the decision to part ways respectfully and make room for another agency to bring its own vision, energy and creative perspective.
That decision was not about abandoning a brand or diminishing the work that had been achieved.
It was about recognising that brands evolve, creative teams evolve and sometimes the healthiest decision is to allow both businesses to move into their next chapters.
From the outside, ending an established client relationship may appear to be a loss.
We see it differently.
A successful agency partnership should not be measured solely by how long an account is retained, but by the contribution made to the brand during that time.
We believe that knowing when to step aside can be just as important as knowing how to lead a brand forward.
Fresh creative energy benefits the brand. New challenges benefit the agency. And a respectful transition allows both to continue growing.
8. Looking Back with Pride
Our time with PizzaBoyz represented far more than a logo redesign or a collection of advertising campaigns.
It was a comprehensive creative relationship that brought together brand development, restaurant design, website management, social media, promotions, activations and digital support.
We are proud of the work, the ideas and the creative journey.
More importantly, we are proud to have been part of the PizzaBoyz story.
Although our professional journey together has reached its conclusion, our appreciation for the brand certainly hasn’t.
We’re still among the biggest fans of the finest square pizza in town!
And we wish PizzaBoyz and its next creative partners every success.
