The Mission: Turn a Bold Concept into a Visually-Driven, Interactive Website
When we first received the brief for The Clandestine’s Group website, we knew this was going to be something special. The brand had a strong visual identity, a forward-thinking team of art directors, and an exciting mix of industries — from drone security to mining support and warehouse management.
As a web developer at Dutch Ink, I was thrilled to collaborate with their creative team to bring this bold vision to life. The challenge? Balance immersive design with high-functionality and structured information — and have fun doing it.
Homepage: Dark Meets Gold — A Visual Masterclass
The homepage was an absolute joy to build. The colour palette — a rich navy blue paired with a striking gold-yellow — was bold, elegant, and instantly eye-catching. Working with drone footage, large-scale banners, and interactive elements created an immersive first impression.
The service info cards required some extra engineering behind the scenes. Matching the feel of the mockups while ensuring responsiveness and fluidity across devices taught me new ways to solve design-meets-dev challenges — and I loved every second of it.
About Page: Clean Typography & Informative Content
This page delivered clarity with style. The typography was carefully chosen — easy to read yet modern and polished. It was also one of the most insightful pages to build. As I developed it, I gained a full picture of the range of services The Clandestine Group provides, from high-level security to tech training and logistical support.
Services Page: Multifaceted Yet Seamless
The Clandestine Group operates across diverse verticals — private security, mining, agriculture, warehouse management, and more. Each service needed its own dedicated space, without overwhelming the user.
This was a great exercise in navigation structure and UX design. Every service now has a focused landing, allowing users to explore areas of interest while keeping the experience intuitive and digestible.
Training Page: Inform, Inspire, and Certify
The Training page was both educational and engaging. It introduces users to drone piloting, what the certification involves, and the skills they’ll build — not just flying drones, but the discipline and excitement that comes with it.
It’s rare to build a page that feels both professional and fun — and this one nailed it.
Tech & Fleet: Highlighting the Power of Innovation
This was one of my favourite sections to work on. Clandestine’s fleet of drones is impressive, and presenting them in a way that felt technical, visual, and easy to explore was a great challenge.
Organizing banners, drone spec highlights, and curated imagery into a dynamic, flowing page allowed users to get a real sense of the company’s capabilities.
Contact Page: Simplicity Meets Utility
Every great site needs a frictionless way to get in touch. The Contact page integrates:
A clear map location
A clickable phone and email
A simple booking/consultation form
The result is a clean, functional finish to a visually rich site.
Final Thoughts: A Creative Collaboration to Remember
Building The Clandestine Group website was more than just a development project — it was a creative experience. The use of colour, bold imagery, thoughtful typography, and unique service offerings made this a dream brief.
Working alongside their art directors pushed me creatively and helped me evolve as a developer. It reminded me why I love what I do — bringing ideas to life through code, strategy, and collaboration.
Dutch Ink is proud to have played a part in creating a site that’s as bold and multifaceted as the brand behind it.
